So far, we’ve seen some pretty neat wearable devices, Chaotic Moon, which is an Austin-based company, wants to take things to the next level.
With this in mind, the firm is reportedly experimenting with electronic components, conductive paint and LED lights, to create smart tattoos, which can be used for various purposes, such as holding credit card information, or monitoring your vital signs.
With this in mind, Chaotic Moon’s Tech Tats, as officially called by the company, can be applied, and washed like a normal temporary tattoo. Based on this, it’s likely that the devices will turn out to be pretty cheap.
There are also a couple of other companies messing around with the idea of smart tattoos. One of these is Motorola, which has recently filed a patent for a microphone tattoo, meant to be imprinted on your throat, to make talking hands-free a much better experience for people from all around the world. Another company has created a smart tattoo which is capable of monitoring your exercise, and charges with the help of your sweat, regardless of how gross it might sound.
Other uses include monitoring levels of pain, body temperature, heart rate and more. While most uses are medical, the idea of smart tattoos does have the potential of becoming mainstream, especially as more companies begin experimenting with the technology.
